Rev. Kennedy’s love for God was clearly evident in her life. At a very young age she became involved in her mother’s church; Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Saratoga Springs NY. Later her love for God became a calling. In 1969 in a church in Brooklyn NY Magora Kennedy was ordained into the ministry by Bishop Gray. This started Rev’s long journey as a minister who loved the Lord and saw advocacy as her ministry. If there was a cause worth fighting for, Rev. Kennedy was going to fight and pray for that cause. Some of Rev. Kennedy’s early church mentors were Rev. Minnie L. Burns (late) of Universal Temple Church in Saratoga Springs NY and Rev. Odel Surgick of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Albany NY, and Rev. Troy Perry. Rev. Kennedy was an assistant pastor at Mt. Olivet Baptist church when Presidential Candidate Jimmy Carter’s brother came to the church in 1976. Rev. Kennedy was an active participant and/or founder of many churches and faith institutions including MCC New Haven, MCC Albany, Harlem MCC, Revelations Now African Goddess Temple, the People’s Interfaith Temple, Holy Body Community, the Holy Body Naked Church, and the aforementioned Mt Olivet Churches.

Rev. Magora Kennedy aka Rev. Crone Goddess Kennedy was Initiated into Goddessship by Rev. Goddess Charmaine in 2011. A deep ceremony of commitment to the Great Mother Goddess, all that is God Goddess awareness. Isis Phoenix was her witness in her Initiation. Rev. always spoke about how Coco Jackson, Isis Phoenix, and Rev. Goddess Charmaine (her Trinity of goddess love warriors) helped her through her anger. In turn Rev. Kennedy Crone Goddess fully and embraced her knowing and calling as Goddess by always showing up for other goddesses that needed support. She has made her Goddess mark on the Goddess Conscious And Sacred Sex Community. Her legacy is imprinted on our spirits. Great Goddess Blessings to our now transitioned Ancestor Realm Rev. Crone Goddess.

Rev. Kennedy was known for her passionate involvement. Her efforts helped the Black Panther Party, various political campaigns, and Stonewall Veterans to mention a few. She was a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and a fierce advocate of the LGBTQ+ youth community. Rev. Mother Kennedy was a constant and vocal supporter of Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network, which was a natural extension of her ministry.
Among many of the jobs Rev. Kennedy performed in her long life, she stated her work with PBS was some of the best years of her life when Rev. Kennedy was featured in the PBS documentary CURED. Rev. Kennedy was also involved in show business where she performed on the Chitlin Circuit as a Mistress of Ceremonies and as a comedian which brought her into contact with Dione Warrick, Duke Ellington, Diana Ross, Muhammad Ali, Dizzy Gillespie to name a few.

Rev. Kennedy touched and was touched by many lives. She always challenged everyone she met to live their fullest and most truthful life no matter what others might say or think. She lived her life as she saw fit and encouraged others to do the same. Let us forever celebrate the remarkable life of Rev. Mother. M. Kennedy Crone Goddess and ensure our lives are a testament to the love, faith, and advocacy that defined her existence. We love you and you will be missed.
