August 18, 1944 – February 15, 2019
Francia Tria was born in Sangay, Camarines Sur, Philippines; August 18th 1944, in the middle of WWII era then Philippine Commonwealth under President Sergio Osmena who assumed office August 1st that year. She was raised by her mother Doῆa Dorothea Gacer along with her brother Ricardo Malinao under this trying times. Through hard work and perseverance she was able to finish her studies at Manila Central University in the mid 60’s, graduating with a degree of Bachelor Science in Nursing; during the time when healthcare industries in the US are actively recruiting nurses. Francia had an illustrious career as a nurse in several New York Metropolitan Area hospital while managing to raise and educate all her children Kim, Sven (deceased) and Mary. She met her creator surrounded by her surviving children at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. She now resides in that house not made of hands but eternal in heavens.
